Govt school, four residential structures gutted in fire

A government school and four other structures were gutted in separate fire incidents, a police spokesman said on Wednesday.

Srinagar, March 26:  A government school and four other structures were gutted in separate fire incidents in Jammu and Kashmir, a police spokesman said on Wednesday.

Two residential sheds were damaged in Padshaibagh of Srinagar early on Wednesday morning, the spokesman said, adding that no one was injured in the incident.

A major fire broke out in a government middle school at Wachi in Pulwama district late on Tuesday night, destroying the single-storey building completely, the spokesman said.

The cause of the fire was not known immediately, he added.

A house and a cowshed were burnt in a blaze caused by electric short circuit in Magam area of Badgam district on Tuesday, he said.
